Free in the West

Dress, Free People/ Shoes, Vintage Fringe Booties/ Jewelry, Pamela Love, Vintage, and Free People.

Besides my graduation dress, this is quite possibly the first "girly" dress in my closet.  However, something about the dresse's flowyness, lace detail, and easy-going look attracted me to it.  To make this outfit a bit more "bad ass", I added some Western Flare, wearing my usual rings on nearly every finger, my arrowhead and turquoise bolo tie, and fringe booties.  I might get used to this dress thing... quite comfy!

Copenhagen Fashion Week

When I was a junior in college, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study abroad.  Traveling throughout Europe was by far one of the best experiences of my life.  I lived in London, but I met up with some of my best college friends in France, Spain, Italy, and surprisingly, Denmark!  I never expected to travel to Copenhagen, Denmark, but my friends and I gathered there for the one and only Sensation White, an electronic experience with 8 hours of NON-STOP dancing.  Although Sensation was amazing, I also fell in love with the quaint city, the friendly people, and the authentic European flavor, not to mention the Scandinavian men... Let's just say, Vampire Eric's EVERYWHERE!  Needless to say, my time in Copenhagen was amazing, and I hold the city near and dear to my heart.  So, as I try to keep up with all the major fashion weeks (the best weeks ever), I made sure to follow the highlights of Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2013 (CFW, the same initials as CHARLESTON FASHION WEEK!).  I immediately fell in love with Nordic designer Barbara i Gongini.  Her play on minimalism and detail were expressions of art, and her layering of monochrome garments were on trend and inspiring.  The delicate details, mixed mediums, and textures make her garments oh-so-yummy!  I'd love to one day add some of her pieces to my closet... A girl can dream.

Love Knows No Bounds

Shorts, Vintage Levis/ Tank, Free People/ Shoes, Zara/ Sunglasses, American Apparel/ Rings, Pamela Love, Free People, and Vintage.

For those of you who know me, it's no surprise that I would write an entire post about cupcakes.  In my opinion, they are one of the best inventions to ever grace planet Earth.  So, when I was out shooting photos for an AW Magazine project today, I naturally couldn't resist the temptation to indulge on one of hey cupcake's beautiful mini-cakes.  The hey cupcake food truck, which I was assigned to photograph, is a staple of the SoCo food truck community, and I'm a huge fan.  Dressed in a loose tank and shorts (the only bearable outfit on a 100 + degree day like today), I decided to take a few pics for the blog.  I grabbed my Zara pumps which were conveniently laying around in my messy car, and got to posing!
PS:  I forgot to share some news with you all!  Besides AW Media, I'm now a stylist at Free People, which would explain my soon-to-be increase in amazing Free People purchases, thanks to my amazing discount!  We'll see if I'm able to save any of my paychecks... :)

Burgundy Lips on a Shoulderless Day

Skirt, Urban Outfitters/ Shirt, Dust & Drag by Laced With Romance/ Belt, Vintage/ Sunglasses, American Apparel/ Wedges, Dolce Vita/ Jewelry, Vintage.

After a day of sitting in the AW office researching the fall 2012 runway trends, I was inspired by all things burgundy.  Getting ready for a night out, I paired my new vintage shoulderless cropped button-up with my UO skirt that goes with everything.  I added my comfy wedges, and finished the outfit off with burgundy lipstick for a dramatic effect.  Ready for a night of fun!

Rings on Every Finger

Slip, Urban Outfitters/ Vest, Thrifted/ Shoes, Havaianas/ Purse, Steve Madden/ Headband, thrifted/ Sunglasses, Vintage/ Jewelry, Rings- Pamela Love arrowhead ring, Free People bracelet ring, Austex Jewelry knuckle cuff rings.

As I've said before, there is nothing that I adore more than a good outdoor market.  I stumbled on a fabulous market this weekend, and was pleased to find the booth displaying Austex Jewelry, designed by the adorable Diana George and her loving husband.  I carefully looked through Stirling silver gems stacked and layered on top of each other, and found just what I've been looking for, knuckle cuff rings!  When asked if I wanted a bag for them, there was obviously no need, as I immediately displayed them proudly with my other rings, (you can never have too many)!

Roadtrippin

Shorts, Vintage Levis from LF/ Shirt, Cavortress Vintage/ Boots, Cavortress Vintage/ Belt, Vintage/ Jewelry, Vintage.

Hey Y'all!  This weekend, I decided to take an impromptu vacay to Fredericksburg, TX.  The tiny Texas town is full of cute shops, restaurants, and beautiful Victorian architecture.  While walking around from store to store, I couldn't help but admire the tribal print, skulls, and horns decorating each window display.  Will I ever tire of the South West?  My favorite discovery of the day was a shop entirely filled with dips and spreads, every single flavor with a sample provided!  Because of my LOVE for samples, this was easily the highlight of my day!  At the end of the day, I drove back to Austin with a belly full of dips, and a heart full of happiness.

GOLD Dust

Skirt, Thrifted/ Shirt, Forever 21/ Shoes, Steve Madden/ Belt, Vintage.

While getting dressed before going to the AW Media office today, I wanted to look professional, yet laid-back at the same time.  I paired my flowy tail hem skirt with a black open shouldered blouse from forever 21.  To finish off the outfit, I added a vintage skinny belt.  To the average eye, this outfit might not seem that out-of-the-box for me, but it IS!  For the first time in a long time, I'm accessorizing with GOLD!  For the past year or so, I've been on a strictly silver binge, but today, I decided to try and incorporate something new into my outfit.  Bring it on gold, I'm back!
